What is the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program?
The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program provides investors a reduction in their federal tax liability in exchange for charging below market rental rates to low income qualified households. The rents do not decrease based on income decreases like HUD and RD Subsidized rents do. The rent remains the same for each lease year, regardless of income changes in the household.
What is the Rural Development (RD) Program?
The Rural Development (RD) Program provides subsidized rents for low income, elderly, and disabled households. The rent is determined based on income increases and decreases in the household.
What is the HUD Project Based Voucher (HPBV) Program?
The HUD Project Based Voucher (HPBV) Program provides subsidized rents for low income families and individuals. The rent is determined based on income increases and decreases in the household.
What is the Market Rate Housing (MRH) Program?
TheMarket Rate Housing (MRH) Program and does not require household income to fall below a maxium income limit to qualify.
